SADE SOLD OVER 500K UNITS IN FIRST WEEK!

Last week Sade, the Nigerian-born singer whose song “Smooth Operator” has been a radio staple for a quarter-century, released “Soldier of Love” (Epic), her first album in 10 years, and it zoomed past all competition. It reached No. 1 with a remarkable 502,000 sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan, a better debut week than Jay-Z, U2 and Britney Spears had for their latest albums…

“Soldier of Love,” Sade’s first No. 1 album in 24 years, runs contrary to prevailing sales trends. Her previous album, “Lovers Rock,” sold 370,000 copies in its first week in 2000. Since then overall album sales have dropped by more than 50 percent, and most artists have gotten used to the pattern of gradual sales erosion; Sade’s sales — at least for this first week — have increased significantly.

The Red Pump Project(TM) is an initiative to help spread awareness about the effect of HIV/AIDS on Women & Girls.
March 10th marks the annual National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a nationwide initiative to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and the impact the disease has on women and young girls.

THE "RED PUMP" PROJECT, JOIN THE CAUSE TODAY!

Every year, the United States recognizes March 10th as National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. The nationwide initiative raises awareness about the increasing impact of HIV/AIDS on women & girls and encourages ladies to take action. While progress has definitely been made in the areas of AIDS prevention and treatment, women still represent 27% of all new AIDS diagnoses, with African-American women accounting for 66% of that group. This year focuses on this statistic, "Every 35 minutes, a woman tests positive for HIV in the United States".

6" STILLETTOS ARE RED PUMP OF THE WEEK!!

In observance of this day, The Red Pump Project is asking bloggers to participate in the second annual “Rock the Red Pump” campaign: 500 in 50. Last year, 135 Twitter, and Facebook fans, blogs to help "Rock the Red Pump" and this year, the're asking us to do it again! This time, the goal of getting 500 blogs to "Rock the Red Pump," and there is only 50 days to do it.
In observance of this annual event, the ladies of Rock the Red Pump, Luvvie and Karyn have kicked off their 2nd annual Rock the Red Pump 500 in 50 campaign, and I have joined the movement!

EVENT: GATE CITY BAR ASSOCIATION ANNUAL BLACK HISTORY MONTH PROGRAM!

The Gate City Bar Association is planning to celebrate Black History Month in a special program on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 6:30pm.

The program will be held at the State Bar of Georgia, 104 Marietta Street, Atlanta, GA 30303 and a reception will follow.

They will spotlight the life and career of The Honorable Clarence Cooper of the United States District Court, and present the following annual awards:
